Savoillan is a remote mountain village situated in the south-east of France about 30 miles north east of Avignon, and 350 miles south east from Paris. We stopped here out of curiosity; from the D40 we saw a small village situated on the hillside to our left, with a bridge and road not much wider than a driveway, leading to the village. The buildings were all made of beautiful blonde stone. There’s a church and a café in the village, but not much else. The two houses were bedecked with flowers couldn’t have been more picturesque.
